Another possibility would be to use the Survey Form. The survey allows a response item to be returned to those submitting to the survey. If contest entrants submitted their entry bitem to a survey, your response would be sent back automatically. If you're using a message forum for the contest, you'd still have to transfer the contest entry if you wanted it shown on the message forum.
