Daily exercise, and boots (or boosts) for the muse. |
Today is the first of a new month (erm, 'White rabbits' for those who know what that's all about ). Here in Blighty, the kids are getting ready for school tomorrow, meaning that parents, like me, are juggling time like you wouldn't believe. Today's exercise will ask you to juggle time--writing time. It is all too easy to push our writing further down our schedules than we'd like. Why? Well, usually because people/events/circumstances demand that we calendar other appointments by writing them down (calendar, diary, filo-fax, fridge-magnets, etc., etc.,). Write Check your preferred calendar system. Do you have any half-hour blocks of time spare each day this week? Book 'em. Get your pen and write your writing time down as an appointment with yourself. Hopefully, the next time another 'event' crops up, you'll check your diary and be able to say, "Actually, no, I have another appointment at that time. Can you suggest another time/date?" ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** |
