Meeting up is hard to do

Individual characters can be as interesting as you want to make them, but nothing helps to develop their personality, and your plot, when they are allowed to interact and spark off other characters. Reveal your characters' personalties when they meet up for the first time. Agatha Christie was very good at showing her characters strengths and flaws over a game of cards, cruise liners, and at dinner.

Write a communal scene, such as one highlighted above, and show your characters in action! Reveal the essence of their personalities as they speak to each other.
