Write On This ... Exercise

1. What is your name? Rory McDevitt.

2. What are you wearing? Steel-tipped boots, worn dungarees, layered flannel shirts, and my father’s wedding ring.

3. Where are we right now? At a pub enjoying a pint in Mulroy, Co. Donegal, Ireland

4. Who is the last person you would want to see here? Ex-fiancée – Fiona.

5. Were you popular as a teenager? Very, especially with the girls. I graduated top of the class I might add.

6. Are you looking for something? A hot date, but not with that stuck-up lady writer who is renting the old sea cottage.

7. Do you have a hobby, or a guilty pleasure?
I volunteer in the Garda Cósta na hÉireann (The Irish Search and Rescue). I am certified in both scuba and cliff rescue. Sometimes when I’m on overnight duty at the pier, I might pen a poem or two.

8. Have you ever made a decision that you regret? Leaving Galway University without my degree. Also, leaving home for the University and not being here with my da on his last fishing trip.

9. Has anyone ever broken your trust? Fiona - that bloody sea witch

10. Where will you be this time tomorrow, and what will you be doing? Hopefully here with my arm around a lovely bit of woman, but I may get called out to sea, though.
