My apologies for delaying the correct answer to the picture riddle.
This is a picture from the Amazon rain forests. River Negro ( black colored waters) meets River Solimoes(sandy colored waters) to form the mighty Amazon. The stark distinction in the colors is attributed to the different temperatures of the two rivers. This is one of the most fascinating natural spectacles in the world. I had the good fortune of seeing it when I visited the Amazon basin. Brazilians call this penomenon "Encontras das Aguas" which literally means "The Meeting of the Waters". I believe that for about 6 kms the two rivers travel parallely without mixing.
Congratulations to and Becks the Papyrus for getting the answer right. Many thanks to everyone who participated.
