A place to mingle and meet friends. |
Very true - that was much of my pull toward the market. I really didn't want people encouraging or wanting me to write immorality or graphic violence. This is the first time that I've run into it with writers. I don't regret it and it doesn't change much. I still plan to try and find a place in the general market. I'm not afraid of the few that won't give me a chance because of my beliefs. I researched other LDS writers in speculative fiction and there's quite a few. And I know that Mormons are big readers of speculative fiction, so that was encouraging. I suppose that even if the general Christian market doesn't take to me, then I can return to the smaller niche of LDS Spec fiction or some combination of the two. But I won't push the LDS side until I'm at least off of the group blog. And since the idea is that I graduate off of that blog when I get published and get a blog of my own, I'll just focus on getting a respected publisher to pick up my book first. The rest will come later.
