Noticing Newbies

Hello All!

I am excited to be here, just like everybody else. I don't know what kind of writer I am. I intended to stick with Sci-fi/Fantasy but my characters keep falling in love. Somehow I wandered into the realm of Fanfiction and in the process took a detour into the land of Vampires and I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever see the light of Day. I started of writing poetry, just little expressions of the heart and and in the process of growing up I somehow found myself here. People kept telling me I was good at science and that I should be a doctor, or a lawyer, or an engineer. Not knowing any better I went along with it. Of course, until one fateful day when I got sick and tired of not knowing who I am. I hadn't written anything in about half a year or so and I was going crazy. Writing became something I needed to do. So I figured, screw it. I'm doing what I want. I'm now majoring in Physics and Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Creative Writing. I'm going to be an Engineer AND a writer, so there.

That was probably far more than you needed to know, but there it is. Though, not in a nutshell because I don't like nuts.

The point being, I'm not quite sure where I'm going with this writing thing. I hope to become a published author, but as far as what kind well, I'm open for exploration. I hope to get completely and thoroughly lost in this world of creative expression. I don't know if I'm any good or if I'm cut out for this place, but I'm here to learn and see and do.
