Noticing Newbies

Hey there,

Okay here is a quick introduction. I think. Many times I start writing and feel I have nothing to say then all of the sudden three pages later I find I was wrong

I have been writing in a journal format for thirty years and only five years ago made the decision to try my hand at writing short stories, I have lived a rather adventurous life, recreating myself numerous times so I don't suffer from a lack of content just a lack of confidence and training.

My closest friend in the whole cosmos is originally from Denmark and we converse via email many times each day, to the tune of several thousand in the past 4 years. Now I am not talking about one sentence emails mind you but quite lengthy ones. When I write her, the words flow easily from my heart onto the page and there is no restriction but as I am sitting here writing these words, there is a knot in my belly, a cramp in my soul and my mind is overly engaged. So please consider that when responding

My list of reasons for being here is long but finding new friends with a passion for writing, who will talk with me honestly about what I have written, give me positive feedback and show me how I can improve is probably number one on that list.

The potential to be both read and reviewed excites me greatly and it is my intention to become a very active participant in all that is offered at writing.com
