Hello all,
My name is Laine. I joined the site last week, and I love it already. I wanted to introduce myself to everyone, and let you all know why I'm here. I joined the site, because I love literature, above all things. I was taught to read very early, and I haven't stopped yet. I began writing at a young age, and it remains a passionate hobby of mine. I want to improve my writing as best I can, and learn from other writers around the world. I believe we each have a unique writing style, and we can learn from one another, vast amounts of wisdoms.
I appreciate constructive criticisms, although I'd appreciate if you weren't too brutal on me. (: I welcome all suggestions, and helpful hints and advice about my work; as I will do the same for you.
My favorite author is Jane Austen. I love her work. There is always a piece of herself in her characters. For example, in her work Pride & Prejudice, the eldest of the Bennett daughters was named Jane. However, the second eldest, Elizabeth Bennett, was a character based on Ms. Austen herself. She takes so much of herself, and puts it into her work. I can only hope that one day, I will be as successful in my works. There is something very personal about the things she writes about, things that almost seem special to her. In my opinion, she is truly one of the greatest female writers. My grandfather bought me a copy of Pride and Prejudice when I was thirteen, and from then on, she has been my favorite author.
I also enjoy the work of Anne Rice. Specifically, her Sleeping Beauty Novels, which she wrote as A.N. Roquelaure. She brings a dark element to the classic Sleeping Beauty, but not as dark as most would think. I also loved The Vampire Chronicles. They were really something quite special to me. Also on my roster of 'Best-Loved Authors' is Stephen King, William Faulkner, Edgar Allan Poe, and Tennyson.
I'll leave you with a farewell, and hopes of meeting many of you in the coming days!

Best of luck to all on your work!
My Sincerest Regards,
Laine Hatred
