Noticing Newbies

Hello everyone!

I'm so excited to meet new people that share the same interests as myself! Being a mother of two girls, one 6yrs old, the other 2 months, its been hard for me to get on the computer and find a site like this one. I happen to find it by chance and so far it seems really amazing! I started writing about a year ago after I was feverishly reading through yet again another Nora Robert's novel, when i thought to myself, "I can do this." Since I didn't have any experience writing before, besides the dreaded reports you have to do in high school, I kind of put it off. About two more books later, I turned, " I can do this," into ,"I will do this," and started my first story. It was a love story, of course, and it was so fun to write. After i finished it, I took a little break and then started my second story. I say "story," but I believe they are both between 70,000 and 133,000 words each which I think is considered a novel if I'm not mistaken. Anyway, the second is a YA story and it was even more fun to write then the first. My characters just came to life for me. I would be up writing until about 3am each day and the story would consume my mind throughout the day until, finally, I finished it! I've had family and friends read it and we all know that they are bias but it still makes me happy to know that they all enjoyed it. I can't wait to share it with people who have the same interests as me and are willing to tell me the truth. I've sent out a query letter to a couple of agents, but they kindly declined. I did get a ,"intriguing, but...," and am still looking around. I'll stop now before I bore you all to death. Can't wait to hear from you!
