I don't know. I've written a 145-page novel before in two months, but never a 175-page book in one month. I've decided to start on an old plot that's floated around in my mind for years, a plot my brother and I brought to life when we used to "act things out". In short, we were still playing while he was a freshman and I was a seventh grader. But the plot goes through a girl's life, a girl named Amaya, which means "night rain" in Japanese. It's a sci-fi and it goes from her being a slave to a bounty hunter's apprentice at nine. She's raised to be an assassin, along with her two Tal best friends, a pair of twins. But, on a job, she encounters a small problem: she is to take in the boy she loves to the Galactic Democracy, who, like Rome, are cruel and merciless. Another small problem is her shadowy past that keeps coming back to haunt her. It's a story of healing and action but also of romance and faith. In the end, she pours out her story to Ben, her love, and is able to sleep soundly without waking up screaming in the dead of the night. I'm pretty sure this is going to be a good story, as long as I don't her into a Mary Sue!
