I don't think I truly have a definition of "good poetry". I find things here on WDC all the time that I may not have read otherwise, but that I really like. I think for me it's the overall feeling of a poem - one that just flows so smoothly as I read it. Some people just seem to have a natural knack for breaking lines at just the right spot to make me stop and think, or read somewhat differently.
I also don't think that a single, definitive answer to the question exists. Actually, when I look back on some of the "junk" I wrote years ago when I was in high school, I can tell you that "bad poetry" exists - so the converse is also true, that "good poetry" exists. But, I don't think there's one answer to what it is. I think it's in the mind of the reader. I also think that it can change for the reader over time and possibly even in a fairly short amount of time. Something that does not resonate with me today may really strike a chord for me next week, depending on the subject matter.
