To all the avid readers in our writers heart~ Heres what we're reading~ |
(Wow! Where do I begin?) The Bible – I recommend this for all readers. It can be found easily and in many versions, but with one message and one author: God. Miss Bishop, by Bess Streeter Aldrich, is a very well-written book with a clever storyline. It made me laugh and cry. Alistair MacLean is a very favourite. He specializes in the genres Action/Adventure and Suspense/Thriller, with a dash of satisfying romance. He was in the Navy during World War Two, which makes his war and sea books shine above the others. I recommend his books for 13+ – I loved them as a 'young adult'. In bold are those I particularly like. Some of his books are: HMS Ulysses When Eight Bells Toll The Guns of Navarone Force 10 From Navarone (sequel) Seawitch Athabasca Partisans Puppet On A Chain Ice Station Zebra Night Without End River of Death Breakheart Pass Bear Island The Dark Crusader The Satan Bug San Andreas South By Java Head The Golden Rendezvous ...and many more. I also love the classic authors, like Jane Austen, the Brontes, Charles Dickens (although I find him a little dry), C.S Lewis, J.R Tolkien. GO SHOWERING ACTS OF JOY! I believe in love, even when I do not feel it. I believe in God, even when He is silent. (Etched on a wall in Nazi concentration camp) "Invalid Item" ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** |
