I stare at these green walls
Merely biding my time until the sky falls
Every day is the same, but I know
I have only myself to blame
I sit on the same ground, in the same way
Wondering if it will be different today
Sometimes, I actually believe that I am going somewhere
Then I return from the clouds and think, it just isn’t fair
I used to believe in dreams, in free will
Now I stare at a screen, and the doctor wants to give me a pill
I never believed in the soul, until I felt mine bleeding
Yet down this path I did not choose, I am still proceeding
Why wasn’t man born with wings?
I could fly away and forget all my material things
I could forget these walls
And would never have to walk down the same halls
