This link gives you some information about self-publishing and the a particular company that provides services. I can't answer your question for sure about why WDC doesn't start self-publishing, but I imagine it would be a lot more work for The StoryMaster Author IconMail Icon and The StoryMistress Author IconMail Icon. Running this wonderful site is already a full time job!
