URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator. The URL has four parts:
Protocol: usually http (HyperText Transfer Protocol) -- another common option is ftp (File Transfer Protocol) Host: for example: www.writing.com, www.google.com Port: default value 80 -- it can be omitted if its value is the default. Path: for example main/portfolio/view/leila_oa
Problem:
The refering URL statistics consider equivalent URL as being different.
Suggestion:
You could make the host part of the referring URL lower case before saving it into the database. On one of my stats pages, both listed URLs appear. They refer to the same page, thus the stat would be more accurate if their visit reference statistics were summed up.
