Willing group gift points, just in case

What happens to gift points contained in groups if the host member's Upgrade+ lapses, and the group is deleted? Do they disappear?

I'm imagining a situation in which a person hosting a group with a large GP kitty disappears from the site, leaving the group to be locked and then deleted after his or her membership lapses. I wonder if there would be a way for a person to "will" the gift points ahead of time, just in case, so that if the group is going to be deleted x number of weeks after the membership lapses, the gift points could go to a place predetermined by the author rather than disappearing.
