Closing the Spell Check

I haven't found a simple way to close the Spell Check--currently I have to close the item and re-open it to get rid of the Spell check items. (I'm making the assumption that all the items listed in the Spell do not need to be corrected, though they continue to be listed.)

Even the Print feature shows the Spell check listings until it's closed.

Can we have a button (or set up a toggle feature) to close the Spell feature?
