Yes there is defiately a cultural setting for this plot.
1) what is her religious background? How does she feel about the cheating? is she vindictive? forgiving? Does what her religious belief have ANYTHING to do with her reaction?
2) if no religion, then morally why does she react the way she does? what in her background causes her to make the decisions or reactions she does?
3) What influences her decisions as she moves forward? How about friends? Each will have their own thoughts as they share what they would do. I suggest you have a variety of firends. Some she will have to ignore as they are pushy and want her to jump back in to dating just to show him. There will be others who have more sound advice.
Her famiily? what will their reactions be and how will she handle that. Those are cultural settings.
