Well, I thought I'd give it a try and I did the word sprint. Not sure how the math works out to produce a time, but it seems that I should be able to complete 1667 words in roughly 40 minutes.
40 minutes??!! That's brilliant! Even I can come up with 40 minutes a day to write.
But it seems my novel will be written in a most shoddy and slipshod fashion. There are angry red scribbles all over the page and my little short seems more like babbling than a true story.
I really hope that all this planning we're doing helps me to solve that problem. I'm not sure I would even want to look at my completed novel in December if it was full of the same wanderings that little story produced.
I guess I'll have to work really hard on that outline.
Maybe I'll try it again with a side story and see if my plot can be a little less meandering. A back story is somewhat difficult to write because all the back story takes place in an entirely different world than the one my novel will be set in.
Thanks for the practice though! I'm starting to get really excited!
