The Christmas Tree

I was sad and down
when I woke up one Christmas.
There are no presents.

I searched for presents,
but there is only a tree.
Just a Christmas tree.

I asked my mother,
"Mommy, where are my presents?"
My mother was confused.

"You're looking at it,"
she said, smiling and laughing.
She walks to the tree.

"Here is your present.
This Christmas tree is yours, son.
I knew you'd like it!"

I couldn't express,
how shocked I was at that time.
I just got a tree.
