My husband loves me;
I know he does, but why does
he give me these gifts?

An ugly green blouse
two sizes too small with a
crappy scarf to match.

A pair of new shoes
literally fit for kings,
buckle-topped clompers!

And a purple purse,
made from burlap, I'm certain,
with five (?) blue pockets.

This year I demand
Cash—dead on the barrel head.
I'll buy my own gifts!

If his love is real,
He'll happily grant my wish.
Who needs surprises?
