This round's prompts are poetry a la Japanese: that is Japanese forms as well as those inspired by them.

To begin you will create one of each of the below poem type, they must be linked by your central theme. And you must follow the (parenthetical) rhyme scheme provided.

You will start with a haiku (5/7/5):

Reindeer smell funny
Leaping high when frightened or
happy in the snow.

Next you would write a Lune. A Lune is an American version of a haiku, with fewer syllables. It's scheme must be: 5/3/5.

Tiny fleas alight
tumble down
the Chimney so fast.

And lastly the Tanka, which is 5/7/5/7/7 and can be done as one group or as 5/7/4 7/7.

Hauling fat old man
Over rooftops dressed in snow
Christmas time below

Takes no account of reindeer
strain, I wish I had some hay.
