The Steampunk Boiler Room

You pose an interesting question here, Boilerman. I see steampunk as a genre that upsets the norm, if you will. It is about untraditional thinkers who refuse to be confined into some preconceived technological box. With that being said, I believe that the real world may, indeed learn something from the steampunk world. Innovation is all about people thinking beyond what they know to exist and past that which has been tested as a solid solution to a technological problem. Why, then, would the "real world" not have anything to learn? With conventional natural resources at a premium, any line of thinking that may spark ideas in the line of optional resources to use to power, transport, and run things will be most useful. At least that is my humble opinion.
