This was bugging me and I couldn't figure it out. From your post, I checked it again and the problem was that tagging wasn't acknowledge that it should "show more" and was continually showing the same stuff. User notebooks were correctly moving back in time which is why I couldn't figure it out initially.
All fixed!
There is a limit ... The system will go back 30 days (it was ignoring this for tagging posts, but I fixed that just now...)
