The Universe is Indifferent

MAY 13 ENTRY: This is a timed challenge. You will write for three minutes on the first subject, and when three minutes is up, you will write for another three minutes on the last noun you typed. Continue this as long as you think is reasonable.Your starting subject is: TRAVEL.



I thought about going poetic with this . For your perusal, three short poems.

Travels to places,
Far and beyond,
Unseen before,
To be a stranger again,
Learn the ways of the land, the people,
To make friends with many,
Acquaintances few.
To be new,
To learn more about myself, peel away the old skin,
Is all I dream of....

Dreams or soul crushers?
They'll tell you "Go on!
Reach for the stars."
And then what?
When you fall short?
Fall on your bum!
I am scared of dreaming,
Unfulfilled ones haunt me each day,
I run and run,
But can you hide from your own self?

I am looking for my identity,
My inner self,
Hidden under the masks,
That I have forced on it.
Self-discovery is tougher than I first thought,
Will my efforts be fruitful?
Who knows what the future holds?
I don't believe in hoping for the best,
It never happens.
Just prepare for the worst....
