316 words is good! You're supposed to write 1,667 words per day during NaNo to hit 50k in a month, right? At this rate, you'll finish your daily word count in 79 minutes. (About an hour and 20 minutes.) That's how much time you should set aside each day to write. You have a couple more sprints to do this month, though, so wait and see if that's your average, or do you improve your time with practice.
