That's exactly what I'm doing right now. I never know everything about my protagonist the first time I do a character inventory, and I'll even leave things blank. Every time I write a background story or do another Prep activity, I learn a little more about my protagonist, so that when I revisit the character inventory, I start filling in those blanks.
