October Novel Prep Challenge

Oct.22 assignment

Alexander threw his leg over the bike and took off, his blonde hair shining in the sun. He was a fast bike rider. He was a happy boy and loved helping to find adventures that he, Damian and Alexander could go on. Dakota was also a loyal friend and very smart. When he got to Dakota's he slid to a stop, raising dust in the dry, high desert ground.

Running up toward Dakota's house he called out, "Hey, Dakota. Come on, let's go." His friend came running out of his house, the screen door slamming. Dakota threw a banana to his friend Not bothering to peel it, Alexander dropped it in the hood of his hoodie. Seeing that Alexander was in a hurry, Dakota put his banana in his hood as well.

Normally Dakota was the one always in a hurry so Alexander not even stopping for a snack was new to Dakota. Dakota quickly caught up to Alexander. "Where are we going in such a hurry?"

"We're going to Damian's new house. He's gonna get more of his stuff to move. We can help unload the van."Alexander sped up to pull ahead of Dakota. All the way to Damian's house they raced.

They pulled up at Damian's house just as the van showed up. "Hey Mrs. Oberg. We came to help with the boxes." Alexander laid the bike down and walked to the van, grabbed a box and headed for the little house. "Where do you want it Mrs. O'?

"Put it inside near the basement door. Thanks Alexander." Sarah turned to the van to grab another box and when she turned around Dakota was reaching out for a box. "Damian has nice friends. Thanks Dakota." She handed the box to the boy and again turned for another box. The boys ran back and forth so she barely had time to grab a new box for each. They were hard workers.
