Email notification.

I know web design and functions are a pain to develop and implement. Is there, perhaps, a way that new mail could be indicated in the Mail Icon, without the online members having to use the Icon button to check if new mail has arrived?

I realize, as a new member, that I may be speaking out of turn, but I do know that such a 'notification' can be used and many of the places I visit will 'flag' a new Email and notify you while you are cruising the site.
