Well timed too.
Some people have the knack of hopping along to the side of you, unobtrusively in the tall grass, then the jump out in full view to keep you company just when you need it.

Much like a kangaroo. *Smile*

Maybe that badge is like the 'roo going through our radiator of the vehicle, a badge of honour identifying that we reached a goal.
