Hi Pamela. Welcome to WDC.com. I'm pleased to meet you. My condolences on your loss. Writing is a powerful thing in life and there are so many genres to choose from. No one likes criticism, but from it we learn and grow when it is constructively given. I'm a formalist poet and for many years I never shared my poetry. It was from constructive criticism I received from friends who were writers that started me on the journey to sharing my poetry with others. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. WDC is a wonderful haven for writers in all genres. I've made many friends since I joined four years ago. The overview for the site is extremely helpful and can be found here: "Writing.Com 101" . If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. The members and staff are friendly and helpful. There are several groups that orient Newbies in navigating the site. Some also have courses and/or workshops in different styles of writing if you are interested. Enjoy yourself and above all have fun.
