A warm welcome to our newbies; come meet new and not-so-new members of Writing.Com! |
Can writing something be a waste? You said that you wrote for Nano, and you were in worst shape. But then you do have the story out on the paper. You know what's going to happen in the story. The mistakes, the crap part is bound to happen. No first draft is supposed to be perfect. It might suck, but you are now aware of what particularly sucks in the story. And nano novels are more of zero draft thing. If I'm guessing correctly, it's the story I'm reading right now. Let me assure you that's not bad. I won't say it's a stellar book, but still it's enough to make me read what's going to happen next. Also, you started writing in July only. It's only six months. Nobody is a born bestseller. It'll come to you with time. As for getting the reviews, it's a reciprocal thing. The more you give, the more you get. You don't need to be a voracious reviewer. One review per day or in two weeks or maybe even in a week should be sufficient to get you into groove. More than that, it'll make you see what your own pieces are lacking. Since you're mainly into novel writing, have you tried "Novel Workshop-temporarily closed" ? This forum is specifically for novelists. I hope you find a place for yourself in this vast community. |
