Noticing Newbies

Thanks, and I get your point. Nothing is truly wasted... I just refer to the fact that I dove into the NaNo prep and NaNo itself with the intention of writing book two of my series, before I had even come up with a reasonable view of book one. If I had it to do over again (and I will in another year), I will write on a completely unrelated topic, so I won't be constrained by unfinished thought.

I was too worried about making it fit into the existing frame... and the frame was only half built, so the result ended up as mainly scribbles, even though I'm quite sure that the overall scope of book two "Invalid Item"  will be close to what my NaNo prep stated it will be.

I have just rewritten book one "Invalid Item"  for about the fifth time -- and I posted several chapters of it, labeled (Revision 4) -- and am currently struggling with how to end it in order to wrap up some of the story arcs and leave enough of the others (but not too much) to entice the reader into continuing on with the series.

It's a big challenge for my first writing attempt. Too big? As you said, it's only been six months, so I have a lot of time to mess with and a lot more words to write before it gets relegated to the dust bin.
