EHACS is quite a successful venture this year. Deadline remains Jan 30, 2014. So, when lingering after your figgy puddings there's plenty of seasonal time to craft a doozie of a winner. Accepting new or old stories or poetry ... thus searching inside Christmas box storage -- and dusting up those files is also an option. @ Club activities, intros came & intros went once I seriously returned to the  we dub http://www.writing.com.About moi. Maybe "Invalid Item"  began as an insular safety net for this author .. but I like to think tonight's Eastern Standard Time ... it morphs to include more. However, not feeling able to reach CLUB members whom never reply to NL sent from this desk clocks in as bothersome. So, Silent Ones, we know you are busy, too. So talk backatcha, willya? Eh, we trudge on, pull the Grinchy sled uphill anyway. So, an appeal comes to mind. Can you donate anything at all -- to our Contest Prize Pool. I went so low last Autumn, I had to downright beg to a contest forum for contest hosts which opened last Fall. They gave a hefty donation. Thank goodness. Suppose, you used the ADC "Invalid Item" REView option for one single day (or more) and gave the gp to this CLUB. Or you simply sent a donation my way -- ala e-mail to teffom@writing.com. I write my name this way TEFF all caps to save time on a keyboard. I joined here in Oct 2004, annually watch all the yellow birds relax. By now I am convinced TEFF is a poster child .. so many everyones besting the likes of Lil Ole Miss TEFF. Boo hoo. Of course, easily ignored. Dare we not be the smart alec, outspoken ones ... as common sense figuring flies up the chimney. Look around the lamby stable. Do you see, three brief items in a port then that new person goes yellow as quick as a flash, within e.g. less than a year. While many put up with crayola overkill, even actively driving their own Lamborghinis. My blog with its vvvrrrmm vrrm voooorrrrrrmmmmmmmmm. So what, I said it. Tough beans in a teflon frying pan. Bah, humbug. If you follow me over the years, I defined clones ... oh back in 2011.Promoting smarty-up only .... as opposed to sameness in writing & mundane written composition (writing) advice .. (advice?) Promising ... never to backslide by embracing or applauding dummy down syndrome isn't comedic. Instead, serious biz. For serious writers. Our daily lives or our creative fiction or our journalism is important to record & maintain the status quo as pertains Contemporary Realism. Genres here are indeed LIT. Impress! What prompts this outburst, one may ask. Partially due webtv.net owned by msn.com since 2007 --- closing down altogether. Kiboshed to nevermore on Oct 1. So, I had to turn to wc. I saved it all. They gave us a three month deadline to move our webpages. I felt like I was in college, slept five hours on, typed five hours, checked & summed I-net site links. Working non-stop from July 2 to Sept 29, I ended up saving ten years of research links & my own writing, all of the above into a dozen webpages. Some over 5 pages in length. Now all supposedly under skype. Good luck trying to find any of it. To save our stuff we were forced to go public -- I net open. Unpublished webpages hit the I-net like the Hindenburg bursting. Oh, we were hot stuff for three months. Published! Published Enmasse with the same carrier, that bygone day of webtv.net bit the dust, no options. We (webbers) as numerous as 4 million to 400 million were independently online productive. There's rumors that Amazon's Kindle store collected a Library of these webtv.net or webbers' webpages. They might read "Powered by msn.com." Nobody took home a dime. Thass a ton of cyber storage, e-bereft in most cases. So, upon a full Monty return to wc .. am kinda determined to progressively make use of promotion which is dormant onsite. I think it can be better. So in Twenty-Fourteen I intend to truly Rock The House, here. And and the handful shall welcome your honest-to-God help, dear CLUB. I've plans. Plans to share, things to instigate. At the same time giving to youse, CLUB. Providing space for promo, encouraging better story writing. More! Give me more! The best thing that happens on wc is to receive excellent submissions. I' ve cried already opening winners on snow laden evenings of yore. So take the time, oh silent ones, please render your etc. Let ADC know your haps. past or present. Sled into the future. GP gifts with attached notes are fun to read. Who doesnt love em? These can email thru posts, which came a surprise to moi. Neato! I receive many thank yous, many compliments since Oct 2004. And Yes? I enjoy same and make it a point to return both time & gp, adding compliments & savvy about this Writing Craft. Do you know TEFF receives a note RE: amount of community recognitions one day. Why? Or why not? Is site staff led count off somehow? Right. Then to cheer me own bad self I kid with my cellophane color of choice like: YO where's my silver? CLUB opts to be a share by all who care to join in such an itty-bitty thing as simple communication. Better fiction requires practice. Contest worthy attempts start here. CLUB if we inspire, share that too. Or tell me where you do share such things. Send it to this forum, each & everyone. Work out. Members interested in action might note: Editors are most welcome and are paid in gp for vocab words @ "Invalid Item" Club members enter the EVERYONE CONTESTS, send the gp entrance fee and that makes things go oh so smoothly as individuals, we gain I-net attention.
Moral of the story ... the day before Christmas Eve .. even if you do well, write fantastically, are naturally creative you can be slammed at the box office. Msn.com didn't slap our faces in the Autumn of 2013, they cut off our keyboards. They sold us to search engines, all the urls. We went silent, became lost in the new sea of search engine protocol, questionnaire hood. How sad, how very very tragic. So CLUB .. with SE (search engine) mess-around becoming worse ... in ordinary time ... Say now? Aren't you glad you kept that 1994 Compton Encyclopedia with it's state maps, science, countries, history and what nots? Picture Miss TEFF in an upstairs chamber, reading by candlelight, from a book so leathery and heavy that ... she can barely stand up, since she hates using oil heat and baby, it's cold outside. What ADC needs is truthful takes on a variety of things related to The Writing Craft and to the thing they call the Internet. What ADC needs is to promise to excel in the creations we continue to produce. Laud only the good ones. Be honest, never accept a sameness in writing pieces that appears stuck in a rut. Furthermore, Hark The Herald Angels Sing ... Speak to adults. Myself return unread, an Alice Hoffman (2013) collection of short stories (a serial in hardcover, really) why? Geared to non-adult LIT. This constant oh we must reach all ages is hogwash. Forget that, do what you want. Stimulate the likes of Lil Ole Miss TEFFY. Please share here in 2014. Inspire us, entertain us, educate the lot.
