What an insight. Let me quote you David:
TRUTH
"... people tend to fall into the trap of thinking that the truth needs to be defended, like some delicate hot-house flower. "Defender of the Faith" and all that. But truth is very very very tough. It needs no-one's help - it can fend quite nicely on its own, thankyouverymuch. But people need to feel needed, so instead of doing the real work of God: sitting still and being PRESENT, they go out and frivolate with swords and holy books."

We open up a big subject when we discuss what the 'real work of God' is for us as individuals or even groups. Some find God through our daily toils, our professions and trying to reach some amount of perfection in our labors of love. Some others consider the entire purpose of their existence to be 'the defender of the faith' .Others justify violence because of 'visions and instructions from God' . Another time and place , conflict between France and England --- and Joan of Arc. Was it God's work ?

NEWS ITEM
According to the Arab Times (English language newspaper in the Middle East), two people in jail converted from Islam to Christianity because of 9/11 , saying that if Osama Bin Laden was justified in destroying the WTC because of religion , then they would not like to be a part of that religion. Well these are people's reactions. Good/bad/indifferent???
