It really depends on how close you want to be to the actual murder. You can tell it up close and personal as suggested by using the victims pov or you can tell it as captured by a surveillance camera so you only share with the reader what the camera catches which allows only the information you want shared to be caught on film. You can also write it as witnessed by an individual who did or didn't realize what it was they were seeing (depends on what type of murder or where it occurs). Remember witnesses are the actual worst reliable evidence that is used in an investigation. I am sure you have seen the experiments on a group of people in a room, someone breaking in committing a crime and running away. Interview each person and they all see or remember something different and most are inaccurate. Good Luck with your murder mystery.
