I own the Hunger Games books, if that counts. It is a series I really want to read, but every time I go to read them another book catches my attention! I've not seen the films, but do plan on catching up before the second part of the last one comes out. I saw the Maze Runner recently and that, I believe, is similar-ish. The target audience is the same at any rate. Young adult dystopia seems to be rather popular at the moment, almost like vampires were the trend a couple of years ago. Of course that means anyone thinking about writing a dystopia novel will probably be too late to cash in on the craze. Any thoughts on what the next trend might be? I think epic fantasy might be the next thing. Now that the Hobbit is almost complete and the LotR estate seems intent on not giving any more film rights away, other studios might start thinking about epic fantasy in the coming years. I don't have any figures, but I reckon film trends match book trends, though which precedes the other is hard to tell. Thanks, Matt ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only **
