Indeed it was quiet...

My daughter gifted me with the first book when I was still living in South Africa. I loved it. I have a soft spot for adventures of "Young adults" or children.

I bought the other two book here in Israel, in Hebrew. Loved them too.

As for the movies - I think they were cleverly cast and were quite accurate against the books.

As for the future - we see all the time that old trends have a tendency of returning after 20/30/40 years or so. Fashion, music, and literature. Pirates were back, remakes of Snow-White, Cinderella and Red-Ridding-Hood etc. In America - a joined forces of all the Super Heroes which fired the imagination of kids all over the world.

I think that perhaps new genres will be invented... We are running out of ideas and the old stuff is getting to be tiresome.
