What will you come up with? |
And the moral of the story is, make sure you go to the doctor quickly when you have a sinus infection so bad that it's draining behind your eye, so that you wake up one morning looking like someone punched you, but you don't go to the doctor because for one you're on vacation and for two, you want to wait until the first of the year when your new, slightly better insurance kicks in, and then, when you go to the doctor, tell them everything--about the blinding headaches and the way you feel your eye bulging out of its socket, and then, after all that, when the pressure finally recedes enough for you to open the eye again, and you notice that you can't see at all out of that eye anymore, and you rush the three kids to your in-laws and yourself with your husband to the ER where neurologists and ophthalmologists will do CT scans at midnight and an MRI at 3 and then operate to take away the fluid that has built up behind your eye and they notice that your retina is completely white--no blood flow, and they tell you that the prognosis is bad, that you probably will not regain the vision in that eye--and the people around you are carefully not telling you that they told you so because they really didn't and they didn't want this to happen to you . . . Sorry. That went a bit long. My sister's in the hospital. I'm watching the kids for the next little bit. scary times. |
