Noticing Newbies

I joined up a week or so ago and have added the only two short stories I've ever written to my portfolio. I'd love some feedback on them.
I wrote them when our local university offered a creative writing course to non-students - sadly that's now stopped.
I'm aiming to do a 2nd level course with the Open University which I will need to do quite a bit of preparation for as i've not done a level 1 course. I think the poetry module will be the most daunting - but perhaps the most rewarding.

As for the rest of my life,I live in Hull which is in the north of England, and I run a small animal sanctuary. It's currently very quite as I'm waiting on a hip replacement.

Pamela
