Welcome to Writing.com, estallsworth. You will gain insight on everything you mentioned in your greeting from this community. There are many support groups that discuss a variety of topics. You could also post in "Writing.Com General Discussion" Open in new Window.. I am sure you'll receive some excellent feedback there.
Personally, my suggestion is to just write. Be willing to make mistakes. Just follow your intuition and stay committed to the craft. Take a few ideas from others but maintain your own style and brand.

Read everyday. Write everyday. Do those two things and you'll be making progress everyday.
