CLASH!

You and your partner work separately and submit individual entries. You are competing AGAINST your partner. Only one of you will go through to the next round.

Your story must contain your character(s) AND your partner's character(s). Your character(s) will be trying to complete the task and will need to defeat or outwit your partner's character(s) to do so first. So you will write both lots of characters into the story and yours should come out the victor.

You may opt for the two lots of characters to work together to start with, or they may just bump into each other on a path, but only your character(s) can emerge victorious. Whether you use brute strength, brains, trickery or luck...that's entirely up to you. Maybe you even convince them to withdraw. Whatever makes the best story. The idea is that your character overcomes all the obstacles to be the first to complete the task.

Your partner will be doing the same, but in their version of events, their character(s) will emerge victorious. The judges decide which version of events is worthy of going through to the next round.
