I'm confused about the question. You said Lacey was your protagonist and get secret it that she has prophetic dreams. As far as how she meets Cade, she's in high school, and you said Cade is lonely. Either he is also a high school student, or one of them has a job where they meet. If Cade is not a high school student living with his parents, he has to eat, and he also has to pay the rent. Either he or lacey could be a delivery person. Maybe he works in the coffee shop where lacey and her friends hang out after school. Or she works in the bookstore our library where cade I'd trying to look up info about his condition.

She is fascinated by him because he is dark and lonely, and she has a maternal instinct to take care of people who need her. Cade is so lonely and scared that he responds to this girl who sincerely seems to care about what he's going through.

Does that give you ideas?
