Noticing Newbies

I"m new here. A 55 year old male. Single. Live a humble life.

I've been writing in my heart and mind for too many years. Wish to write a novel. It is my story. A story that appeals to young people who think: "There's something wrong here." They are caught up in life and keep wondering why. There's no meaning to life?

I am interested in also writing lyrics. Learning piano now.

I really am not interested in profiting from any of this. Wish to leave it when I die. It's the creation that's important. Not profiting.

I went ahead and joined here to learn. I have to admit. If I were to copy a style. It would be from the writer of The French Connection; Robin Moore. He had a way of describing a scene in few words. Yet it was plenty complete. I also really like Laura Hillenbrand. Seabiscuit was the only book I ever read in one day. I can't say I've been a big reader in my life.

I imagine I'll use my main computer mostly for this site. I recently bought a used Macbook to devote to writing. Leave the Wi-Fi off most of the time. Only turn it on to upload something here. Picked up a software suggested by the store called Scrivner. Hoping it works out well.

I have much to learn. That's all I have to do with my life till it's over. If I accomplish what I want. To borrow lyrics from a song: "My heart will be calm when I'm laid to rest."
