Noticing Newbies

Happy Holidays, Y'all!

Long, long ago in a life far, far away I once dreamed, and actively endeavored to become, a professional writer. Then, to paraphrase John Lennon, life happened while I was busy making other plans. Marriage, kids, career...all blessings I wouldn't trade for anything...put that dream on the back burner, then off to the side counter, and ultimately into the recycle bin.

I have no regrets, not a single one, and I have no illusions regarding writing the next great American novel/short story/bathroom stall limerick. What I do aspire to, however, is being amongst creative and like-minded people (as much as I enjoy my chosen profession, it's not one synonymous with creativity,) even if it's only in a virtual setting such as this.

I hope you all enjoy your holiday of choice (or, absent any affiliation, the coming new year,) and look forward to seeing y'all around.
