         Hi, this is a poem I've recently adapted from I story I'd written once beforehand; both the story and this poem are inspired by the song 'Mountains Made of Steam', by Silver Mt Zion. I've always found a source of great inspiration in the song, and it recently struck me that the tone of the song could lend very well to a love-oriented interpretation, and seeing as I have a growing interest in poetry, I figured I would try my hand at crafting something to give the idea a go, and then when I stumbled across this contest, I had found my ideal platform for doing so.
         As such, the poem is probably of pretty poor quality, simply because not only I am a relatively untrained hand in poetry, I also haven't written anything poetic in quite a while. There is also the problem that I tend to be overly ambitious (unfortunately it's my nature, but I'm working on it), and so my ideas I want to express often go over a reader's head, lost in abstract expression and ambiguity. So any advice and criticism I can receive would be very much welcome and appreciated, because I've really enjoyed writing this piece, and I would love to be able to improve my skills and produce more poetry I can enjoy writing so much but of a higher calibre!
