Getting those stories out of your head takes just one thing--willpower. Just tell those voices it's time to be heard, and paste them to those pages. Yeah, that's a pretty simplistic view, I suppose. But true. As for the tools to complete that task--you'll probably never feel like you've mastered the tools you desire to write perfectly. So don't wait to start. Do like the rest of us and learn along the way. I believe I'm a much better writer than I was when I joined some years back. But I'm a long way from perfect.
Don't wait for that "right" moment. I think you'll be glad you didn't wait. And the rest of us will be here to help when you ask. (I suspect some will help you whether you ask or not. )
