You are absolutely right. One can be an aethist and be spiritual at the same time.
The organizational side binds people , like players on a hometeam , by giving people a sense of identity and a sense of belonging. These are extremely human attributes. But these can also be manipulated and conflicts arise. Human beings and not God then sits in Judgement.The binding power of religion is abused.
Many comments from Stories .com contributors , like yourself , shows the way. To recognize the politics of religion , as diffrent from an individual's spirituality.
But organizations do get on a platform ,even global ones, talk and discuss serious issues. Why is it , that when it comes to religion , people avoid discussions on common values , and focus on differences? Today it is utopia to think otherwise. Should it always be this way?
