Hey there, Call me Ai. I'm not sure where to begin, but one thing about myself is that I work full time as an SEO Content Writer for a small office in Cebu, Philippines. I'm constantly trying to increase my writing speed without delivering too much crap and trying to beat the office biometrics clock. Haha. I am that bored at work! Not really bored. I enjoy my job is just that the people I work with are kind of annoying at times, but that is what happens when you place a recluse like me in a small place, and I am almost always restless because I love walking around and traveling. Luckily, We have a home base option so I can work from home without getting too angry at the clock. I sometimes appear late to work and have to stay over time to finish my job, but these days I'm finishing quite quickly because I am challenging myself to write on a timer. In a day I have to write 3 sets of assignments which is composed of 3 articles, so that I can get a daily quota of 4,000 words a day! Working as a content writer helped me in writing. I used to rely on inspiration to write god awful things, but now I just write what comes to mind and not worry if my writing is crap. Because I write three times on the same topic I realized that the crappy first draft is where you put your thoughts on paper just to flush out everything you've learned, the second is where you organize your thoughts, and third is where you check whether one or two of the ideas need to be taken out. As you can tell I am serious about writing. I've got books about writing from James Scott, Steven Harper, and Steven Pressfield to name a few. But aside from writing I am also a proficient tarot and oracle card reader, and I've been reading people's oracles and mine since I was 14 years old. I was heavily influenced by the tarot reading sessions conducted at home for my grandmother, and the relatives from my mother's side would gather around to listen and discuss about the predictions. When I started reading cards I began with regular playing cards and a tattered book on cartomancy using the celtic cross spread, I was doing spring cleaning at that time and when I found the book I was totally immersed in it, and after a year I receive my first tarot card called "Universal Fantasy Tarot" by Paolo Martinello. I spent half of my life trying to write and draw while the other half meandering around and doing oracle readings. However after my youth and the unstable period of my life dissipated. I am comfortable with writing now and mostly spend my time writing, reading oracle cards, and doing anything I like at the comfort of home. Sometimes I bake cookies because I feel like it. Lately, there's a story in my head and I can't seem to put it all together, but I'm still figuring out a few things about my writing style and voice. You see, I'm not a native speaker of English, but we were taught to read and write and listen to it at a young age. However there's a huge difference between native speakers and non native ones. But I try my best because I like writing and want to improve myself. I think some of my tragic flaws in being a writer and in writing is creating dialogue. I write dialogue but I tend to think that the convo is boring and kind of lame at times. Another tragic flaw...This is getting too long for your own good! Haha! Hm, I'll end it here for now. :) I hope you guys can help me out! I can help you out too! Let's be friends!!! :D |
